Discussion of Change in Subject A: Graphic Organizers
Subject A did not create a graphic organizer for the initial assessment. For the final assessment, Subject A did create a graphic organizer and received 1 point for organization and .5 points for content for a total of 1.5 points. Subject A showed change in this case by deciding to create a graphic organizer but did not excel in organization and idea development in his final assessment graphic organizer. However, in two of the writing tasks, Subject A showed change in the final drafts of the graphic organizers submitted with each. In the third writing task, Subject A created a rough draft of a graphic organizer and demonstrated change in his ability to organize and develop ideas. Subject A did not revise this rough graphic organizer to enhance it further after teacher feedback.
