Recommendations and Implications for Future Research

        This research is limited in its scope in that it only focused on prewriting strategies. In future research, further exploration is needed into the effects of explicit strategy instruction on the revision process for college students. Also, the results of this study seemed to point to greater motivation and growth of metacognition in adult learners who have returned to school after working or raising children, but further research would need to be done to explore this hypothesis further.
